Fan-Fic HTTYD: Reign of the Dragons

                                                            HTTYD: Reign of the Dragons pt.1
It only happens once a year here at the Dragon Training Academy, and it's the most important day in a young Viking's life. Today is graduation day. "Our next graduating student is Novad!" Oh, it looks like I'm up. Well I'm off to go get my very own Dragon!

Alright, before we really get into this there are some things you need to know. It's been 20 years since Hiccup and the gang befriended dragons. Hiccup is now the chief of Berk and still runs the DTA (Dragon Training Academy).  Every year a few kids attend the academy and graduate, earning them a chance to train their own dragon. Berk continues to be a happy and prosperous place thanks to Hiccup and the dragons. Now, let's get back to the story.

"Mom, please don't cry. I promise it'll be fine. I'll be back with my new dragon before you know it," I said.
"Oh I just can't believe this day is finally here. I packed everything you'll need: clothes, some food, and a journal. Please be safe. I love you," My mom sobbed.
"I love you too. Don't worry mom," I reassured as we hugged.
It was really hard trying to be strong for my mom. I'd never done anything like this before, but I knew it was worth it. I was going to get me a dragon. My map told me the place I was looking for was the Great West Ocean. That was where I was going to find my Scauldron. I had heard stories about them. Yes they could be dangerous, but they also had a gentle side. I knew that was the dragon for me. I hoped all that studying and training I did would pay off. I knew it would take me at least two days to reach the ocean. So I set off with hopes for the best. "The forest will be the best place to start," I told myself. After a few hours of moving through the woods I noticed it was beginning to get dark. So I decided to set up camp. That's when I heard movement in the trees. I shot straight up from where I was laying and pulled out my dagger. Suddenly, there was a sound like a giant axe slicing through wood. I barely managed to jump out of the way of a falling tree. Then a roar shook the ground. There right in front of me, was a gigantic Timberjack. Its wings looked razor sharp and it seemed to have a wingspan that could cover the sky. This was its territory, and I was an intruder. I grabbed my things and bolted into the woods. I thought that with the dragon's large size, there was no way it could maneuver through the trees. It turned out it didn't need too. The raging Timberjack began slicing through the trees with one thing on its mind, killing me. There was no way I was going to be able to outrun it for long so I had to think of something. I took a sharp turn to the right and kept running. The Timberjack continued on straight and away from me. I stopped running, gasping for air, and checked my map. I was so happy just to be alive. Luckily I wasn't thrown off the trail too much. I traveled for about an hour before I decided it was safe enough to set up camp. My legs were so sore; I could swear they were throbbing. I decided to write in my journal before falling asleep next to the fire.
